This variation of the Forward
Roll is performed with the legs in a
Pike
position throughout.It
requires that the athlete roll quickly, and unlike a forward
roll, the use of hands in standing up is accepted.Begin the roll with arms overhead, and legs straight.Throughout the forward roll, the legs stay straight, with
the difficult part of the skill beginning when the heels come to
the floor.At this
point, the athlete must continue to pike, allowing momentum to
push the body to a standing position, with the hands pressing on
the floor near the legs.As
always, finish in a stretched position.
