This vault is by far the most important vault for a young
gymnast to develop.As
with a Front
Handspring on the floor, it requires the body to turn
over, with the weight supported briefly on the hands. From the springboard, the body is kept in a slightly hollow
position, and after “blocking” with the shoulders, the body
rises up in a slightly arched
position.These
positions can be modified for a simple Front Handspring, but are
essential for higher-level vaults that the athlete will later
encounter.
