ALL STARS MEET SUNDAY JUNE 1ST 2003

Gymnastics Revolutionís first ever All Star Meet went off in spectacular fashion on June 1, 2003.  With outstanding peripheral events, including the National Anthem played in complete darkness, except for the bright flag.

The day ran very smoothly, and the gymnasts became familiar with the idea of competing as a team.  The format was enhanced by our special announcer, Jim, who worked all afternoon to ensure every athleteís enjoyment.

The two teams were very different entering this competition.  Andromeda was made up of older athletes, some of whom were working through injuries, while Aurora was made up of younger, less experienced gymnasts.  In the end, Aurora emerged victorious, due largely to their depth, and to huge contributions from the co-captains, Madeline and Michelle.

Despite the efforts of the overall meet champion, Lauren, and high scores from the older members of the team, Andromeda was unable to match Auroraís score.  Andromeda, however, was operating without the benefit of one of their top gymnasts, and with their team captain, Ashley, fighting through an injured shoulder.
