Level 6 Team Competes at Yurchenko Invitational February 14-15, 2004 Allentown, PA.

Gymnastics Revolution’s Level 6 team traveled to Allentown, Pennsylvania to compete against some of the best teams on the Atlantic coast in the Yurchenko Invitational. February 14, 2004, Lizzie, Sera, Katie, Jessica, and Christine put together their abilities, and in the end, placed 4th place as a team.

The team started on Floor, and they were immediately in control. With several perfect tumbling passes, and outstanding dance from Katie and Christine, the team’s momentum was high as they moved to vault. With big vaults from Katie, Lizzie, and Jessica, the team continued their charge.

Bars, however, became a struggle. The team had to count two falls, and then try to recover for Beam. On the beam, Lizzie and Sera hit solidly, but again, a few falls had to be counted.

In the individual awards, Lizzie and Katie were not strangers to the awards platform, and Christine, the newest member of the team, and competing in the older age division, took first place all around! Congratulations, Christine!

In the end, the bigger teams from New Jersey and Pennsylvania were too strong to overcome, but the small team from Gymnastics Revolution did its best – they’re already back in the gym training for the remainder of the Spring Season in Connecticut, where they plan to show the state that quality, not quantity, wins meets!
