GYM REV HOME MEET NOVEMBER 13, 2005

November 13, 2005 marked the biggest local meet in Gymnastics Revolution history.  In two large sessions, over 135 gymnasts from 5 gyms competed in an effort to improve their scores and qualify to the State Championships.

Gymnastics Revolution, hosting the event, fielded a team of 12 Level 4’s, 6 Level 5’s, and 12 Level 6 gymnasts.  The Level 5’s competed in the morning, and were led by Lauren, whose Floor score was the highest of the day, and whose All Around score placed her solidly in second place, only .025 behind the highest scorer of the competition.  Other Level 5’s of note from Gym Rev were Samantha, who finished third in the All around, and Noelle, who earned a spot at the State Championships this December.

The afternoon brought in the very young Level 4’s, led once again by Kari and Michelle, and highlighted by Shaylyn’s 9.0 on the vault.  A team of hard working gymnasts, the Level 4’s are now preparing for the biggest meet of their careers, the Rhode Island Invitational, which will take place in the first week of December.

The Level 6’s were absolutely dominant that afternoon, taking the first 5 all around spots, and 7 of the top 8 spots.  Lucy’s high flying vault, and Amy’s super-clean beam routine earned the highest scores for the group, and Sam’s bar routine, although receiving only an 8.4, was 3 tenths of a point over the next highest scorer.

All of these athletes will compete two more times in the month of December, their season culminating at the State Championships to be held at Southern Connecticut State University December 10 and 11, 2005.  Be sure to check back for results!
